Business Overview

Little Burger Truck will be a premium takeaway burger truck operating in the city of Caen.

Little Burger Truck will offer one dish: a burger of ground beef with a choice of sauce, with fries or salad as a side.

We will also sell a selection of drinks and desserts.

The food truck will be managed by the two partners: David and Sylvie D, whose respective professional profiles match up very well.

David has great experience in the restaurant business, having worked in different restaurants in the region for 15 years. Sylvie has a solid management background, with 12 years as an accountant for a small business in Caen.

Having been married for the last 8 years, the two partners know each other very well.

Market Overview

1.07 billion burgers were sold in France in 2014, representing a growth of more than 10% since 2013.

In terms of takeaway sales, the market is also growing (+1% in 2014) unlike with burger restaurants. It's estimated that the turnover of this market is just over €46 billion and the average price per meal is €6.17.

At the local level, the opportunity for food trucks lies mainly in industrial and shopping areas, and around certain tourist attractions and sports arenas.

These locations, situated away from the city centre, do not benefit from continuous demand, making them unattractive for traditional restaurants. This creates an opportunity for food trucks, which, thanks to their mobility, can serve these customers during peak hours and travel to other locations during off-peak hours.

Peak hours are midday during the week for industrial and shopping areas, and evenings and weekends for tourist attractions and sports arenas.

This strategy has already been successfully adopted by two food trucks operating in the suburbs of Caen, and there are enough locations for a third food truck to enter the market without competing directly with the existing players.
